2025 Summer Programs at the Finger Lakes Workforce Development Center.
W.O.R.K. (Workforce Opportunities Through Research & Knowledge)
This is a 6-week civic engagement summer program for high school aged students. In this program, students learn about Rochester’s Black history, innovation and economic history. During these 6 weeks, students develop soft skills needed in the workplace, and take field trips to area employers. At the completion of the W.O.R.K. Program, students leave with NC3 Certifications. We have 24 students from Pearl Resources, Liberty Partnership and Upward Bound enrolled for Summer 2025. For inquiries contact Siva Visveswaran at svisveswaran@monroecc.edu.
Advanced Manufacturing Pre-apprenticeship Program (Link opens in new window)
This is a 6-week program offered in partnership with Rochester Technology and Manufacturing Association (RTMA). At the completion of this program, students will leave with SACA, UR Robotics, NFPA 70e and OSHA-10 certifications. Camp Hard Hat
Camp Hard Hat is a week-long day camp that provides local students ages 12-15 the opportunity to participate in a community-based construction project. UR Robotics Summer Academy (Link opens in new window)
This is a 4-day camp in UR Robotics operator certification.

Problem-Solving Using A.I. (Link opens in new window)

Introduction to Skilled Trades (Link opens in new window)
A 16-week program providing a well-rounded overview of the skilled trades industry. This course is perfect for beginners, requiring no prior experience or knowledge.
